In a holiday week, there's still some to talk about-- especially as the Albany Devils took center stage in Atlantic City in another game at the Boardwalk Hall...and who knows what that could mean for the rebuilding city. The ECHL's head honcho took his first official tour of the Quad Cities and had plenty of glowing reviews, which is great for Mallards supporters. There's still a transition period going on for some CHL teams going into the ECHL, as Wichita and Missouri are trying to find their footing with different looks at their rosters. Speaking of transitions, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are looking to see how some of their physical players could keep up their edge-- without getting those pesky suspensions. All that, some news and notes and, of course, We Hardly Knew Ye.

The Frozen Dome Classic broke some records, so we have to start with that-- all the reaction from the game and what it could mean for Syracuse in the future. Justin Fox was sly like a fox when it came to taking the summer to play hockey in Australian, which has helped him to a great start in the ECHL. Matt Case is constant in Idaho, while Eriah Hayes knows the trip from Worcester to San Jose very well. The AHL Hall of Fame class was named for this year, while it was a record setting night for the SPHL on Friday with the women in that game taking center stage. All that, plus Rocco Grimaldi's double-header, shake-ups in the Wild minor league nets, and We Hardly Knew Ye.
A very AHL-centric version, as Scotty Wazz goes down the stories from the road according to the Adirondack Flames. The first firing of a coach happened in Iowa this week, while the attendance in Worcester could prove the end for the Sharks if the AHL West happens. Two great stories about the odd way to get into professional hockey-- one from Brandon DeFazio and one from 2nd Lieutenant Jason Fabian. The ECHL announced their Hall of Fame class for 2015, while the Milwaukee Admirals were the butt of some jokes for a good cause. All that, news and notes, and We Hardly Knew Ye.
This week, Scotty Wazz discusses the five-game series between the Quad City Mallards and Brampton Beast and how the Mallards feel the time away could great a greater bonding experience early in the season. As the season goes on, the CHL teams are adjusting with the Wichita Thunder going a completely different route than they had before and thriving with it. The Leggio Rule is now a thing and David Leggio is shocked it became such a huge deal. Allen York is a hockey nomad trying to find his way, which he may have gotten this year in the ECHL. Also, we'll have the story of Dan Bremner and how he decided to honor his late-mother. All that, plus the usual news and notes and We Hardly Knew Ye.
This week, we'll take a look at the Quad City Mallards attempt to get back to the top of the mountain both on and off the ice, the Iowa Wild trying to make an impact in the same way in their new home, as well as the Bourque brothers playing side-by-side on an organized team for the first time. Sarah Leaitch has quite the task ahead of her for the Hamilton Bulldogs, but has been handling it in stride, while the Syracuse Crunch are looking to take a possible record-setting event in stride, without too much hype....kind of. All that, plus news and notes and We Hardly Knew Ye.
