CHW Interviews: Josh Nixon and Cam Gaudette of the Maryland Black Bears

This installment of Chesapeake Hockey Week Interviews has Scotty Wazz talking with Maryland Black Bears forward Josh Nixon and defenseman Cam Gaudette. They discuss coming to Maryland, family ties in hockey, and what they've taken from junior hockey to go forward into college.

They converse over the team's recent hot swing, how they were able to get out of their downslide, looking ahead to the rest of the season, and more!! 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 04.20.21 (S3E29): Another Black Bears Sweep, Turtle Cup III, Glenelg at Nationals, and Hardware for Stevenson

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the Maryland Black Bears with yet another sweep, the third edition of the Turtle Cup intrasquad tournament for Stevenson University's ACHA team took place, while Glenelg High School went to nationals. Stevenson University's NCAA teams took home hardware and we look at some local players.

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the big sweep that the Maryland Black Bears had on their weekend up in Johnstown, as well as what Wazz wants to happen this coming week-- spoiler: more spring cleaning. The Stevenson ACHA team was back on the ice for the first time in 14 months and came out of it with a big win. Also, a look back on both the Stevenson Men's and Women's NCAA program and what to look forward to there. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 04.06.21 (S3E27): Black Bears Sweep, Stevenson Were in Playoffs, and More!!

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the Maryland Black Bears crucial sweep against New Jersey and what they can do with this momentum in a pivotal weekend in Johnstown. Stevenson's program were both in the UCHC Playoffs, as the men had quite a run and the women were met with bad luck. All that, plus the Chesapeake Bay Lightning's cause to get to Nationals and some news on players. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 03.30.21 (S3E26): Black Bears Overtime Weekend, Stevenson's Teams Win Titles, and Club Hockey is Back

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the overtime weekend that was for the Maryland Black Bears, as they had all kinds of free hockey to deal with in Northeast. Both Stevenson Men's and Women's not only swept the weekend, but won the MAC championships as they prepare for the UCHC playoffs. Also, some news on club teams in the area starting back up, and more!! 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 03.23.21 (S3E25): Black Bears Split, Both Stevenson's Goes Undefeated, and Team Maryland Look-back

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the split for the Maryland Black Bears this weekend and why Friday's game could have been one of the more complete games in team history. Team Maryland is done, but the progress remains-- we'll look at the year that was for TM. Stevenson's Men and Women's programs went undefeated this weekend, while the NCAA Women's National Championship was a battle of Maryland. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 03.16.21 (S3E24): Stevenson Men Sweep, Black Bears Get Some Positives, Team Maryland's Season Ends

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the positives that the Maryland Black Bears can take out of this weekend's games in Johnstown, while Team Maryland ended their season against the top team in the EHL. The Stevenson University Men's team swept all three of their games, while the Women's team had a detour that didn't turn out so well. The MSHL finals happens and some player news. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 03.09.21 (S3E23): Black Bears Skid Continues, Team Maryland and Stevenson Women Sweep, and Youth Playoffs

This week, Scotty Wazz will take a look at the continuing skid of the Maryland Black Bears, as every game from this point forward is crucial for them. Team Maryland won their first playoff series in franchise history in two statement wins, while the Stevenson University Women's team had two big statement victories as they continue to roll on. All that, plus updates on the CBHL, MSHL, and players from the state of Maryland. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 03.02.21 (S3E22): Stevenson Women Sweep, Stevenson Men Split, Black Bears and Team Maryland Swept

This week, Scotty Wazz will talk about the Maryland Black Bears woes in the midst of their eight-game slide, while Team Maryland heads into the playoffs in a bit of a funk of their own. Stevenson's Women squad had two big wins for their weekend with a solid all-around showing, while the Stevenson Men split in their weekend. It's MSHL and CBHL playoffs times and we'll talk the players from the Old Line State. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 02.23.21 (S3E21): Splits for Stevenson, Tough Breaks for Black Bears and Team Maryland

This week, Scotty Wazz will take a look at the Maryland Black Bears being back at The Den, but didn't come out with the results they wanted, while Team Maryland went to Protec and dropped a heartbreaker. The Stevenson's Men's and Women's teams split their series, while also announcing expansion to their club system. All that, plus some MSHL news and players from the region news. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 02.16.21 (S3E20): Sweep for Stevenson, Split for Team Maryland, Tough Losses for Black Bears

This week, Scotty Wazz will talk about the Maryland Black Bears tough weekend in Johnstown and what needs to be hammered out for this weekend's return to The Den. Team Maryland upset the top team in the league, but let one slip against the team ahead of them. Stevenson's Men got off to a smashing start to their truncated season as the Women wait for their turn this weekend. Lacey Eden continues to go HAM in her freshman year, while Jerad Rosburg gets his first pro point, and we say so-long to two Maryland players who hung up their skates. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 02.10.21 (S3E19): Tough Losses for Black Bears, Team Maryland; Stevenson's Men Starting Up

This week, Scotty Wazz will talk about the tough week that the Maryland Black Bears had, despite some recent acquisitions and college commitments, but they'll need a short memory with a short turnaround. Team Maryland had a couple of tough games in Connecticut, but bounced back in Protec. Stevenson University Men's team is looking to get started this weekend, though the DIII title will be on hold again. We'll look at the 2nd-Year Black Bears alum and how Maryland players did this week.
