Face Off Hockey Show

Did you know the NHL 100 Game was this weekend?? Neither did we. However, we did learn some things from the NHL's Board of Governor's meeting, like how the NHL is coming up with technology not yet invented yet for their new player tracking system. We'll talk injuries, the sale of the Carolina Hurricanes, the arena plan for the New York Islanders, as well as talk with Spector's Hockey's Lyle Richardson talking about how arenas are funded and why Eric Francis' piece in the Calgary Sun about the Flames is just super absurd.  VIDEO LINK: http://youtu.be/gissNTVDU_U

This week, we talk about how the Russians have been banned from the Olympics and how the KHL could be big babies about and screw over some other nations in the process. Speaking of KHL, Mike Keenan got fired from there. Seattle gets the money for their arena upgrade. Also, Spector's Hockey Lyle Richardson will tell us why dynasties are actually bad for sports rather than good. 

This week, Jen (@NHLHistorygirl) and Scotty (@scottywazz) look back at the history of the Patrick Roy trade from Montreal, as the 22nd Anniversary of Roy's request just past. They'll also go into other players who wanted out and held-out until they got what they wanted--even if it meant breaking the consecutive-game streak, right Steve Larmer??
