Chesapeake Hockey Week 11.26.19 (S2E12)

This week, Scotty Wazz will go over the heartbreaking losses by the Maryland Black Bears this weekend, while also getting pumped by Team Maryland, Stevenson University D3, Stevenson University Women, and Navy D1 having perfect weekends. Wazz will also talk about the DVCHC Women's Showcase with the Maryland Terps, Towson Tigers, and Loyola Greyhounds all participating; the Terps' D2 and Towson D1 had less than desired finishes, while Stevenson University's Club team is having a European Vacation. This week, the boys are talking about the hottest news-- Mike Babcock getting fired by the Toronto Maple Leafs and how it couldn't happen to a better team. Lyle Richardson joins us to talk the fall of Cory Schneider and Andrew Ladd, what the Leafs can do now, and handicap the Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2020

Chesapeake Hockey Week Interviews: Brayden Stannard of the Maryland Black Bears

This interview, Scotty Wazz talks with Brayden Stannard of the Maryland Black Bears, coming off his East Division Player of the Week honors. In this, they talk about coming from the Upper Penisula of Michigan, leaving home at a young age to pursue a dream, choosing University of Nebraska-Omaha and playing in the NCHC, as well as the rapid rise to the NAHL. All that, plus details on how to help with the Black Bears' Seats for Soldiers campaign. 

Chesapeake Hockey Week 11.19.19 (S2E11)

This week, Scotty Wazz reviews all the happenings from the Black Bears taking a split in New Jersey against the NAHL's top team and the issues with the stream and those who host the stream. Team Maryland went up to Connecticut and took two wins, as did the Stevenson women's team; but they stayed on campus to do, as did the Naval Academy D1 men. Let's not forget the Towson men's and women's, Terps men's and women's, Loyola women's, and Stevenson's club teams either. We are closer to this week's show than we are last week's show. The first hour and a bit is the Chesapeake Hockey Week, but after that-- the boys are joined by NBC's Sean Leahy to talk about the quotes coming from Don Cherry and Hilary Knight, the Ilya Kovalchuk thing, the rookies of the league,and just the general fantasticness that happens when they're all together.

This episode, Scotty Wazz talks with Josh Fusco, head coach and GM of Team Maryland in the EHL. They go over Josh's turn to head coaching, his time in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, as well as the feeling of having so many familiar faces follow him to Team Maryland for this new chapter in his coaching career. They also talk about the little things he did to make the player feel more comfortable in their home rink, as well as how being so close to an NAHL team works for motivation of the players. The Black Bears had a task with three games in three days against the Generals, Team Maryland had yet another EHL Showcase, while Navy's D2 and Women's squads had tournaments of their own. He'll also touch on the Stevenson's men's and women's D3 team, as well as the club entry; Navy's D1 played; as the the Towson men and women's teams. Terps men's and women had a tough one-game set, while some players around the Maryland area struggle to find the net-- but they sure can pass. Not such a great weekend for Navy D2 or the Green Horses of Stevenson, but Towson's men's squad split a weekend, including a long shootout finals, while the battle of Ice World happened between the women of Towson and Loyola.
