Face Off Hockey Show

This week, the boys talk to BD Gallof of IslesBeat.com about the new UBS Arena, the Islander success the past two seasons, and what it's going to take for them to get over the Lightning hump. The boys will also talk about the inevitable jersey ads that are finally coming in 2022-23, while Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey will talk some rumors flying around and old stories of memorabilia past and present. 

This week, the boys look at the very revamped AHL playoff format and then question the NHL using it next. Sean Leahy from NBC Sports comes on to talk about the Olympics conundrum for the NHL, while Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey talks some Kirll Kaprizov, Jack Eichel, and the bump in the salary cap. 

Twenty years ago, Face Off Hockey Show was born in a garage in Lanham, Maryland. From August 8th, 2001 until today, the boys have gotten together weekly to talk this about that. We talk about the history of the show, some bits we enjoy, some Draft trip memories, and more. We've got guests like BD Gallof of Isles Beat, our old PR person Laura, Draft trip legend Death, our ref buddy Mac, JenHL History Girl, and of course-- Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey. Join us for over three hours of memories, laughs, and more. 

This week, the boys talk about the tale as old as time-- the NHL and IOC at odds over expanded media rights. They'll discuss whether or not it matters, considering other pro sports leagues take on Olympics. Evander Kane was accused of plenty of wrong doing, some retiring players, and Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey comes on to talk about Tom Wilson wrecking the Rangers' psyche and Jack Eichel's surgical mystery. 

This week, the boys talk about all the signings during the free agent frenzy, all the trades before and after the Draft, the backstabbing of M-A Fleury, the idiocy of front offices in Carolina and Montreal, and much more. Lyle Richardson even showed up to hang out and talk things, as well as give his heartfelt thoughts on the Canadiens ill-will to their fan base thanks to their pick in the Draft. 

This week, the boys talk about the Expansion Draft picks before the actual broadcast and talk about whether or not it was a good decision on either side for it to happen. The second hour is checking out the ESPN telecast, where Kevin Weekes will end up next in the city of Seattle, and more. 

This week, the boys talk about the big buyouts of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter by Minnesota and what that means in the short and long term. They'll talk about the Pierre McGuire news on his move to the front office. Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey joins to talk the Duncan Keith trade, the salary cap as an imaginary number, and more!! 

This week, the boys talk about the size of the Stanley Cup crowd in Montreal, the result of their NASCAR sponsorship, and the films of WWE Studios. Also, Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey will guide us through the decisions the Wild have and will need to make, the Buffalo Sabres core (without a mention of Jack Eichel), and what the Seattle Kraken could do to spend to the salary cap. 

This week, Jon and Scott talk about how the show is sponsoring a NASCAR during this week's Road America weekend. Sean Leahy of NBC will join us to talk about the NHL State of the League, Olympics, Awards, Referees, and Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey joins as we make out Expansion Picks. Plus, what's up with Vladimir Tarasenko and Duncan Keith?? 

This week, the boys talk about whether the officiating is suspect this year or if it's because there's only four teams left in the whole thing...or because of who's still in it. They'll also go over the NHLPA Player's Poll, while also being joined by Spector's Hockey's Lyle Richardson to talk about the Seth Jones trade market, the Oliver Ekman-Larsson trade markets, and his last round against inanimate objects. 

This week, Scotty Wazz talks to Kim Weiss, the new assistant coach of the Maryland Black Bears, as well as the first woman coach behind the bench of a junior hockey team in North America. They discuss when Kim knew she would be a coach, the network of women in hockey she has made during her time, the growth of youth hockey in the Maryland/DC area, and what she sees ahead for the Black Bears. 

This week, the boys talk about Owen Power leaning towards going back to the NCAA rather than jumping into the NHL, which leads to discussion about if the Draft should be fixed and other alternatives to the Draft. Also, Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey joins us to talk about the Jack Eichel rumors, coaching changes, and the better awards distribution method. 

This week, Scotty Wazz ends the season with a look back on Game Three for the Black Bears and a brief season recap before heading into the off-season. Stevenson University's Men's and Women's team recruit two new players apiece as they look ahead to their season next year.

Also, how did Canada pull off the World Championship win, our dream picks for the NHL on HBOMax, and Lyle Richardson of Spector's Hockey joins us to talk Jack Eichel trade rumors and Mark Scheifele blaming others for his suspension. 

This week, Scotty Wazz talks about the Maryland Black Bears on the brink of elimination and what can be done to make sure they can play their full amount of games in this series. Also, Stevenson University Men's hockey welcomed two more recruits to their stable, while the London Knights keep it in the family with the selection of Blake Montgomery to their team in the OHL Draft.
